+ What is the best before date of these products?

Each product has a period after opening symbol on the label, which is generally 2 years (24 months) after opening.

+ What do the codes on the bottom of the product relate to?

The date on the bottom relates to the ‘date of manufacture’.
The ‘BB’ number relates to the batch number.

+ Why does my product no longer have a 'Tamper Evident Tag'?

Unfortunately our cap supplier has with immediate effect stopped supplying the caps with tamper evident tabs. We have been advised that this is from a safety perspective as they have the potential to be swallowed etc.

We are looking into alternatives and in the meantime, our products will be supplied without them.

You can however you can clearly see whether a product has been used or not as if so, you can see that there is cream in the pump head.

+ Are your products tested on animals?

We do not test on animals or accept ingredients that have been tested on animals.

+ I am Vegan, can I still use these products?

Yes – We do not use any animal product, by-product or derivative in any of our products.

+ Are these products natural?

Natural cosmetics are made from raw materials sourced from nature, such as plants and minerals and from a renewable natural supply. The raw materials we use go through the least amount of processing and the processing methods cause the least impact to humans, wild life and the earth.

+ Does the SOS range contain any parabens or SLS?

No. This product range does not contain Parabens, SLS, Mineral Oil, Colour or Fragrances.

+ Are your products non-comedogenic?

Yes our products are non-comedogenic – they are formulated with sensitive skin sufferers in mind.

+ Is the SOS range organic?

Our products are naturally derived with organic materials however they are not organically certified.

+ Is the SOS range Gluten-Free?

Yes the SOS range is 'Gluten-Free'.

+ Is the packaging recyclable?

Yes - The SOS range of products are fully recyclable. They are packaged in fully recyclable airless pumps.

+ Who shouldn’t use SOS Serum?

People who are allergic to any of the ingredients. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this serum and consult your doctor or pharmacist. SOS Serum is not recommended for babies under one month of age. SOS Serum should not be used to treat severe, widespread reddening of the skin (erythroderma), infected or inflamed skin.

+ I'm pregnant, can I use these products?

Yes however we would recommend that you check that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients and if you are still unsure then please check with your doctor.

+ I have a nut allergy; can I use these products?

Yes - Our SOS Serum Skincare range does not contain nuts or any nut derivatives. However we recommend you check the ingredients and ask your doctor if you think you may be allergic to any of them.

+ Can I use SOS SPF 50 around the eyes?

SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream can be applied carefully around the eye area - take care to ensure no direct contact with the eyes. Gently pump a pea-sized amount onto your fingertips and place it under the eyes, at the outer corners and in-between the eyebrows.

+ Is SOS SPF 50 a combination sunscreen?

SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream is contains mineral based filters however it is a hybrid sunscreen. It’s performance is entirely due to the mineral content combination of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in a unique micro-encapsulation form. It does however also contain phenylbenzimidazole to provide the formulation with a light non oily feel on the skin & to improve the actual photo stability of the combined ingredients on long term storage.

+ What is the star rating of the SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream?

SOS SPF 50 has been tested according to the Boots 5* rating system and given the 5* Ultra rating.

+ What is the PPD factor for UVA of the SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream?

It is a minimum of 20.

+ Is the SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream photo-stable?

SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream is photo stable. Please always remember that in use the product will gradually be absorbed by the skin. Warm weather skin perspiration will also dilute the actives. So great stability but we always recommend more than one application per day. It will also add surface moisturisation.

+ Is the SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream a reef safe product?

SOS SPF 50 Sun Cream is free from Oxybenzone and Octinoxate and instead is a mineral based sunscreen with the ingredients Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. These ingredients are less harmful to corals and are not linked to coral bleaching. It is also without parabens, SLS, Mineral Oil or Fragrance.

+ Why isnt SOS PROTECT Hand Sanitiser alcohol-based?

SOS PROTECT is a Benzalkonium Chloride-based hand sanitiser & these have a greater sustained antibacterial activity than alcohol-based hand sanitisers. Benzalkonium Chloride-based hand sanitisers become more effective without irritation after repeated use. They are also non flammable, non-damaging to the skin, are persistent and will not stain clothing.

+ I have sensitive skin but am concerned about trying out new products.

Our products are formulated for sensitive skin however we would always recommend that you carry out a patch test 24 hours before using any product for the first time.
